Narrative Description of Project:
The project consists of providing offsite infrastructure for Tema Export Processing Zone. Facilities include a 3.2km 4-lane access road, 7.5km secondary and boundary roads, drainage facilities including a double 1,200mm pipe culvert, double 4m x 4m Box culvert and a single 1000mm diameter pipe culvert; Construction of a DN 500 water main to connect into the existing DN 1050 steel main to Tema, to supply and distribute about 39,500m³ of water per day, a 1.5million gallon reinforced concrete ground reservoir and 500,000 gallons overhead steel tank, booster pump station and distribution network; Construction of main gravity sewers ranging from 450mm diameter spun concrete pipe through 1050mm diameter spun concrete pipes, a sewage pumping station, waster stabilization ponds and a laboratory for waste water quality monitoring; Provision of 2 (two) 40MVA sub-station, 33kV distribution network, Telecommunication Facilities and environmental impact assessment; rehabilitation of 10km of railway siding and extending it by another 10km.

Description of Actual Services Provided by ABP:
It comprises a detailed study of the facilities listed above and other services carried out by ABP. Services include all topographical survey and design of infrastructure except telecommunication facilities, railway rehabilitation, geotechnical investigation and Environmental Impact Assessment which were sublet; Preparation and evaluation of pre-qualification document for selecting contractors, preparation of bidding, tender and contract documents; Invitation to pre-qualified contractors to submit bids; followed by evaluation of bids; ABP is now responsible for Construction Supervision and Contract Management for four proposed Contracts. The time input and cost thereof are now being negotiated and are not included in the figure quoted above.
