Narrative Description of Project:

The project consisted of engineering study and design of 26 km. of urban roads in Accra.  The selected roads formed part of a comprehensive road rehabilitation programme called Road and Transport Systems Management then being undertaken by the Ministry of Roads and Highways.  The objective was to ensure efficient circulation of traffic, reduction of vehicular operation costs and provision of accesses to certain settlements in the City of Accra. The project was packaged into 4 Lots, two of which have been constructed at a cost of US$27.0 Million.

Description of Actual Services Provided by ABP:

ABP provided the following services: Project Co-ordination and Direction; Route Location; Topographical Survey; Hydraulic Studies; Preliminary and Detailed Engineering Designs including the conceptual design of a major interchange bridge on Kanda Highway, another major bridge on Odaw river and 30 culverts; Preparation of Tender and Contract Documents; and a substantial portion of Construction Supervision and Contract Management of the 2 No. lots that have been constructed.
